MARSH United were crowned as North Lancashire League champions on Monday night - without kicking a ball.

Marsh were due in Sam Price Memorial Cup final action on Giant Axe - but that game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. But they could still crack the champagne corks after closest rivals Storeys would only draw 0-0 with Slyne-with-Hest. That stalemate handed the title to Marsh, who can turn their last two games into exhibition games now. Monday results
