A LOCAL MP has vowed to direct passing motorists towards one of the region's most outstanding areas of natural beauty.
MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale Tim Farron has put in a request to the Highways Agency to signpost the Yorkshire Dales at Junction 37 of the M6.
"I have asked for the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority to back me because, just three miles from the junction, you have Sedbergh, which is the Dales' most populated town.
"Places like this and Dent are not signposted. They are particularly attractive places with a lot to offer and I think that they are getting a raw deal," he said.
