A 47-YEAR-OLD cyclist sustained serious injuries after he was in collision with a 44-tonne heavy goods vehicle at Ambleside yesterday (Wednesday).
The incident happened at around 5.30pm at Low Wood when the Scania lorry, driven by a man from Dalston, was in collision with a pedal cycle, ridden by a man from Kirkby-in-Furness.
The cyclist was taken by ambulance to Westmorland General Hospital with a suspected broken collarbone and bruising.
