SETTLE'S former police station and courthouse is to be converted into homes after being sold by North Yorkshire Police for £355,000.
The listed building in Duke Street has been bought by Ilkley-based Candelisa, which now has permission from Craven District Council to turn it into seven homes.
It has been empty since April 2012, when the police relocated to converted stables at the rear of the building.

Police and Crime Commissioner, Julia Mulligan, said “I am very pleased to see planning permission granted and the sale being completed for the old police station inSettle.
"It is good news for the town that this attractive, old building can now be put to good use.”
Candelisa recently completed the residential conversion of Providence House in Skipton, the former headquarters of Skipton Building Society.
