THE summer months always bring a lull, then everything comes at once.
I have hardly been able to keep up this week.
London Fashion Week made a royally welcome return, all eyes were on Los Angeles as the acting world elite gathered for the Emmys and, much more importantly, Downton Abbey was back on our screens. Hurrah!
If ever there was a moment to draw inspiration from the pop cultural world, now would be the right time.
As we all know when it comes to fashion weeks, we are as interested (if not more) in who is sat in the front row and what they are wearing than what is on the catwalk.
The creme de la creme of the industry converged in their best clobber on Sunday for the Topshop Unique show.
Sir Philip Green was bunched up between singer Ciara, Anna Wintour, and kept royal (ish) company with Cressida Bonas and Alexa Chung.
One of the big hits of the show was Topshop's countryside-inspired Edenvale white tunic dress emblazoned with a dainty dandelion complete with a high neck, popper button sleeves and ruched pleating to the sides.
Rejoice! Because this catwalk piece CAN be yours for the measly sum of, ahem, £195 (not bad considering...).
And with a fashion forecast for 2016 off screen, on screen we were transported to the fashions of 1925.
The times are moving fast on Downton. Too much for some.
Lady Mary stirs up a hornet's nest in the Earl of Grantham in the opening sequence as she rides astride (in trousers - SHOCK) rather than (more gracefully for a Lady) aside.
Ever the minx Mary also continues to showcase her 20s pixie bob, but this time complete with a curl of hair seemingly stuck to her cheek.
And head gear is again all the rage.
Get the Downton look yourself with a headband from New Look at just £2.99.
It may be black and simple, but this subtle addition will give your outfit a sassy throw back twist.
