AFTER all that hype about an Indian summer which made a somewhat half-hearted appearance we are well and truly back to the cold.
The cooler climes have certainly arrived and the feeble among us have marked the occasion by digging out our winter coats (not to mention dusting them off).
Yes, the trees are on the turn and leaves are being shed by the second.
With greens, reds, yellows and browns - what better season to embrace.
Luckily for us autumn colours are always in in autumn so make the most of them while you can.
Kate Moss has already been snapped wrapped up in a leopard print fur coat (granted not autumn-colour-inspired) while Rita Ora has been spotted sporting a scarlet-coloured satin dress with a plunged neckline.
And Kate Hudson has donned a cream shearling trim coat to protect her from the elements.
Keep warm in autumn hues with a jumper from Joules' cute collection.
There are plenty to choose from but I have gone for a super-soft caramel-coloured option complete with a sausage dog design at £69.95.
And wait for it, the dog is also bang on trend with a burgundy striped jumper on. Pawfect!
Match with skinny jeans and a pair of plimsolls for a dress-down look or a skirt, tights and brown Chelsea boots for a weekend jaunt.
Another pro for the cooler months is the totally acceptable choice of opaque tights which are conveniently very flattering.
Alternatively head to Topshop which has a great pair of deep red suede ankle boots at £82.
Laced up the front, the heeled Magpie boots are ideal for making a statement on nights out with friends.
Match with skinny denim jeans and Topshop's teal side-split top.
Forget that fresh, clean summer finish and go for season-suitable smokey eye make up and accessorise with a bold necklace to round it off.
