AN INDEPENDENT commission is looking into new ways to carve up Lancashire – and wants local people to have their say.
The Local Government Boundary Commission is asking people across the county to comment on its draft proposals for new county council divisions.
It has launched an eight-week public consultation on new county electoral boundaries and division names this week.
The commission proposes that Lancashire should keep its 84 county councillors but recommends that they should represent 80 single-member divisions or wards and two two-member divisions.
Detailed interactive maps of the plan are available on the website at www.consultation.lgbce.org.uk and hard copies of the report and maps are available to view at council buildings and libraries.
To make a submission to the commission on boundary changes, write to LGBCE, 14th floor, Millbank Tower, London SW1P 4QP or email
reviews@lgbce.org.uk before January 11, 2016.
