OFFICIALS at Morecambe FC have had an 'extremely positive' meeting with three organisations over the Shrimps' promotion into the Football League.

Board members met representatives from the Football League, the Football Licensing Authority and Lancashire County Council's Property Services.

Chief executive Rod Taylor said the meeting went well and the club is confident that there are no major issues.

"We know the work we need to do and there is no reason why we can't undertake those works in the timescales set," says Mr Taylor.

To finalise their place in the Football League the club needs to provide a CCTV system around the ground, computerised turnstiles, a better telephone system inside Christie Park and extra toilet facilities.

Adds Mr Taylor: "Because of the works we have undertaken at Christie Park over the last few years nothing has come as a major shock.

"We have been planning for this event for a long time and those preparations has been invaluable."
