At the Museum of Lakeland Life and Industry we are lucky enough to house more than 5,000 Joseph Hardman glass plate negatives. These beautiful images provide a snap shot of the Lake District between the 1930s and 1960s but are often accompanied by very little information. As such we are always extremely grateful for any information that we can add to our records to give ever great depth to this wonderful archive. This image, featured a few weeks ago, is from the Hardman archive and the museum would like to send out a big thank you to everyone who took the time to get in touch with us to help us identify it as the River Derwent making its way through Borrowdale. We can now put a name to this beautiful image.
