A WOMAN had to be rescued earlier after becoming stranded up to her waist in seawater when she was caught by rising tides.
The Great North Air Ambulance Service and RNLI lifeboat from Morecambe attended as the middle-aged woman was trapped on beach at Bolton-le-Sands.

It is understood the woman had been walking her dog at approximately 12.40pm near Sandside Caravan Park before she became stranded.
The woman was checked over by paramedics after the rescue and did not require any further medical attention.
