A KENDAL College tutor has been crowned one of the Institute of Hospitality’s ‘Learners of the Year’ for 2016.
Simon Hansen, a lecturer in hospitality and catering at the college was one of only three students to be honoured at the awards dinner in London.
Mr Hansen, 40, originally from the North East, has worked at the college for the last 10 years. He
He was presented with the Level 4 Learner of the Year 2016 Award by Anne Harper, Head of Professional Development at the institute.
“I feel quite overwhelmed to have been recognised like this by the institute," said Mr Hansen. "My passion for food has been a fundamental part of my life and I get so much pleasure in striving to pass this passion and skills onto the next generation."
The Institute of Hospitality is the professional body for individual managers and aspiring managers working and studying in the hospitality, leisure and tourism (HLT) industry.
