CANAL lover Colin Ogden is preparing to tow his vintage boat along the route of the Lancaster Canal with 'Captain Jack Sparrow'.
The Burnley heating engineer will be accompanied by his good friend and photographer Laurraine Smith, of Morecambe, who will be dressed as the Pirates of the Caribbean movie character made famous by actor Johnny Depp.
Mr Ogden, founder of the Owd Lanky Boaters Group on Facebook, is to depart from Bridgehouse Marina, Garstang, on Sunday, June 26 at 10am, and plans to call at several locations that were filled in when the canal closed.
He hopes the pirate-themed voyage to Kendal will raise awareness of hopes to restore Northern Reaches of the Lancaster Canal.
