A WOMAN suffered head and wrist injuries after falling on a fell near Coniston.
Coniston Mountain Rescue Team attended to the woman on Dow Crag last week (June 22).
The team ascended to the incident with first aid, ropes, stretchers and a vacuum mattress.
On approach they could see the casualty and her partner in their shelter blankets at the foot of Giant's Crawl.
On arrival the the woman was being treated for her injuries by the helicopter paramedic and the Coniston MRT first aiders.
After the casualty had undergone treatment it was decided that she would be winched into the helicopter and flown to Furness General Hospital.
In total 13 team members from Coniston MRT and 11 team members from Dudden and Furness MRT attended the incident.
