A GRASMERE bookshop was "swamped" with people keen to meet broadcaster and novelist Richard Madeley during a book signing for his new thriller.
The Night Book is set in the Lake District during the heatwave summer of 1976, and is described as "a novel of dark suspense".
Paul Nelson, whose wife Elaine owns the book store, described Mr Madeley as "absolutely lovely" and said the shop was "packed out" during his half-hour visit.
