POLICE are investigating a burglary where £4,500 was stolen from an elderly couple in Kendal.
The burglary occurred at a property on Kentmere Brow at approximately 2pm on July 19.
One of the occupants discovered a man upstairs in the property after hearing a noise. The suspect, upon being disturbed, quickly made off from the house. Following the incident the couple discovered that money had been stolen from one of the bedrooms.
The suspect has been described as being a white male in his early 30s, approximately 5'8'' tall, of medium build with fair hair. He was wearing a light-coloured top and was holding a small paper medicine bag.

Detective Constable Tom Pearman, of South Cumbria CID, said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed a man matching the description in the area of Kentmere Brow. This was in broad daylight and we hope that someone will have seen something that will help identify the man responsible.
“The money stolen was savings from their pensions and they have been left understandably hurt and shaken by this incident. If anyone has any information please get in touch.”
