LAKES Parish Council has reminded dog walkers that anyone responsible for a dog should clear up after their pet, even on dark evenings and early mornings, and especially in Rothay Park near the school where dog mess is a danger to children.

The parish handyman continually deals with dog fouling in and round Ambleside but dog walkers in popular rural areas such as White Moss Common are also causing problems by leaving discarded poo bags hanging from trees or stuck in stone walls instead of putting them in the nearest bin or taking them home to dispose of.
