A NURSERY is celebrating its 70th anniversary with a fundraising party at Kendal's Castle Green Hotel.
Brantfield Nursery is inviting past and present staff, parents, local companies and friends to the evening on April 1, which will raise money for two good causes - Muscular Dystrophy UK and children's hospice Derian House. The hospice provides support for young people people across the South Lakes.
The charities were chosen as Kendal schoolgirl Ella Dixon, who suffers with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, was a former pupil at the nursery.
And Freda Dacre and Wendy Balmer, who dedicated many years working at the nursery before passing away last year, were both big supporters of the Chorley-based hospice. They raised money by knitting soft toy items and selling them at local village hall events.
There will be hot food and local band The Seals will be performing at the evening.
Tickets are £25 per person.
