THE BBC Songs of Praise production team have been in Grasmere to film a feature on the foundation of the National Trust.

Makers of the popular Sunday night show spent three days in the county last week and also visited Millom on Friday to focus on poet Norman Nicholson for a programme to be screened on May 14. Presenter Pam Rhodes, producer Garry Boon and a camera crew interviewed Charlie Lambert, chairman of the Norman Nicholson Society, on the site of the former Millom Ironworks. They also shot sequences at St George’s Parish Church, at Nicholson’s former home in St George’s Terrace, and other locations nearby.
