Approximately 2,000 square metres of woodland were in flames on Monday evening.
Three crews from Ambleside, Whitehaven and Ulverston, two specialist wildfire units from Windermere and Grange, and a wildfire Land Rover from Ambleside attended the fire at Grizedale Forest.
The crew members used a hose reel jet, two fire express hose reel units, five water pump backpacks and beaters to put out the fire.

The fire was caused by dry weather, said a fire spokesperson.
Firefighters were called out at 4.47pm, and left the scene over five hours later at at 10.21pm.
