I appealing for any old milk bottles and the 'cardboard caps' that sealed milk bottles up until the mid 1950s.
I have a milk bottle museum here in Malvern with some 17,500 British milk bottles dating from the 1880s to the 1990s and although I have some from the area between Kendal and Morecambe, there were many more dairies that I don't have a bottle from.
I generally get bottles from farmers, campsites, and dairies, and people who find them under sinks, in sheds, allotment sheds, lofts and even from electricians who find them under floorboards when re-wiring houses!
I can be contacted on 01684 569656 or on milkbottlepast@hotmail.com
Please don't throw those milk bottles away.
