Summer is now upon us and along with summer comes midges, muggy evenings and motorcycles. The first two one accepts, the third can be a nuisance and a risk.
Most motorcyclists behave responsibly, many others however try to copy the Isle of Man TT races down the narrow lanes of the Yorkshire Dales.
In Germany I understand that motorcycles are banned from National Parks. I would not advocate that here, I am content for those who drive with consideration to continue enjoying the countryside.
I live in Garsdale and am troubled by motorcycles roaring past my front door at incredible speeds. My front door is three feet from the road which has a 60mph speed limit.
I would dearly like to see the police take an interest in catching these people. I would also like to see the speed limit reduced to 30mph along stretches of the road where dwellings abut upon the roadside.
