MEADOW Foods, which is a leading buyer of Cumbrian milk, has announced that it will be increasing its milk price by +1ppl from August 1. It will take their standard A litre price to 28.15ppl.
The estimated B Price range for July is between 30ppl to 33ppl and the market currently shows signs of strengthening going into the Autumn.
Simon Chantler, executive chairman at Meadow Foods, said: "We are pleased to be able to pass on this increase to our producers. We will continue to watch the market closely and hope to continue to be able to move our price forward as soon as we can."
Meadow Foods is the UK’s largest independently owned dairy group and leading supplier of milk based dairy ingredients to the food industry.
It currently handles more than 500 million litres of milk each year direct from over 550 farmer suppliers from across the North of England, Midlands and North & West Wales.
