OFFICERS investigating a collision between a car and a cyclist in Ulverston on Wednesday (26 July) arrested a 30-year-old man yesterday (30 July) in the Manchester area.
The man is currently in police custody and will soon be transported into Cumbria police custody.
The cyclist remains in hospital in a critical condition.

Superintendent Rob O’Connor said: “I would like to thank the family of the injured cyclist for the patience they have shown this week.
“I would also like to thank the public – particularly those people who have responded to our appeals by contacting us with information.”
The collision occurred in the area of the A5087 at the junction of Park Road and Priory Road.
The collision involved a black VW Polo and a male cyclist.
The male cyclist, a 24-year-old man from the Ulverston area, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital via air ambulance.
