LANDLORDS of the Smithy Inn in Holme have celebrated their 30th anniversary at the pub with a party.
Tom and Pam Baxter took over the pub in 1987 and have go on to develop it into an award-winning establishment.
In early 2000 the pub was remodelled into its present configuration with a large bar area and a separate dining and function room.
It is well known for its weekly quizzes which over the years have raised more than £100,000 for a wide variety of national and local charities.
To celebrate they had a party at the pub, with live music, food and a drink on the house for everyone that came through the door.
"We love the village and we are very much community minded and the children have been brought up here," Mrs Baxter, 57, said. "We just love Holme and we just try and keep going - they call the pub the hub of the community."
