A man who admitted the murder of a Blackpool man during a gay-bashing' spree has been jailed for life.
Marc Goodwin, 23, will serve a minimum of 18 years after for the murder Malcolm Benfold in the early hours of January 30 this year.
Mr Benfold, 57, of Bute Avenue, North Shore, died from severe head injuries after being attacked on Middle Walk, Blackpool Promenade.
Goodwin, 23, who is from Airdrie, Scotland, was the leader of a three-strong gang who after a drinking session, set out to attack homosexual men at the known gay meeting spot.
The two men who accompanied Goodwin on the night of the attack were also jailed.
James McNamee, 27, was handed a three-year sentence for robbery and common assault, while 23-year-old Joseph Williams, was given two-and-a-half years for the same offences. They both lived on Knowle Avenue, Blackpool.
