A MEETING space in Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre has been transformed thanks to a successful fundraising campaign.
The Intro Bar has been given a complete makeover, with new lighting, furniture and redecoration.
Other improvements include a new picture hanging system so work on exhibit is presented well and additional power sockets and USB charging points to it can be used for informal meetings and as a place for people to work.
The revamp to the Intro Bar, which is situated opposite the box office, was paid for thanks to a campaign which raised around £12,000 from a range of sources including a donation from the Arts Council England and public contributions.
Brewery chief executive Richard Foster said: “The Intro Bar is well used as a meeting place throughout the day for people taking part in our creative learning programme and as a pre-show and interval drinks venue at nights.
“It was badly in need of a makeover, however, and we are delighted that our customers and local organisations responded with money to help us create a much more welcoming area to relax, meet friends and view the artwork on display.”
As part of the project, a new sound system has been installed and customers will be able to submit their own music playlist which, if chosen, will be played in the bar for a month.
