The Cumbria Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Patient and Public Involvement in Health Forum are setting up a project group to gather information and produce a balanced, objective report on the proposed changes to Respite Services for children with learning disabilities.

The information they will gather will include: The needs and views of service users, carers, families and staff.

What services are available now.

What is proposed for the future.

How appropriate Services are for the needs of the client group.

Access to services now.

Access to services in the future.

Crisis arrangements.

Risk assessment/management.

They will work in partnership to gather information with as many relevant stakeholders from the voluntary, statutory and private sector as well as interested individuals to inform the writing of this report.

The project will run for a period of three months, it is intended to produce a report to be presented to the Primary Care Trust with the recommendations by the end of October 2007.

The Forum will be holding a Public Meeting on Wednesday 5th September at 1:30 - 3:30 Botcherby Community Centre, Carlisle.
