POLICE are appealing for information after a motorcyclist suffered serious leg injuries following a hit and run near Newby Bridge.
A police spokesman said the motorcyclist was travelling towards Newby Bridge on the A592 at around 9:15pm on Monday (August 6) when he collided with a red-coloured, old-style Vauxhall Corsa.
The car, which had a different coloured bonnet, failed to stop and was seen to drive off towards Bowness-on-Windermere.
The motorcyclist was flung from his bike and suffered serious leg injuries. He was taken to Furness General Hospital in Barrow for surgery on his leg.
The accident took place close to the Town Head building and anyone with any information should contact Carl Walsh at the Ulverston Road Policing Unit on 0845-3300-247.
