AN invitation to tender for the running of Berners Pool in Grange has generated two responses from private companies.
Officials and elected members at South Lakeland District Council are now to look closely at both proposals at a meeting on August 15.
In June SLDC placed an advert in national publication Leisure Opportunities inviting tenders in a bid to find a private operator to re-open the £3.5 million swimming pool and fitness centre, which closed last year.
It set out strict criteria to be met by the future operator to secure an affordable and long-term future for the four-year-old facility.
