While millions of England's smokers remain frustrated by the lighting-up ban in enclosed public places, for one South Lakeland man it is the official no smoking' sign that by law should be posted on all business premises which is causing most offence.
Engraver Alan Marsh is so annoyed at being told to put up the sign, he has produced an amusing one of his own to highlight the "pointless" rule.
Mr Marsh, owner of Cooper Engravings, Staveley, argues that forcing businesses to put up signs saying smoking is illegal is meaningless.
To find out what the sign says, see the August 10 edition of The Westmorland Gazette.
