The unpopular fortnightly bin collections continue to court opposition in South Lakeland, with one village hoping for greater flexibility' to please everyone.
Parish councillors in Hawkshead are urging South Lakeland District Council to rethink its policy on collecting waste from wheelie bins, believing that small holiday villages are suffering.
The smell from the bins during the fortnight wait, and the size of the bins, are among the problems Hawkshead Parish Council wants to be urgently addressed.
At a meeting last week, councillors agreed to write to the district council to ask if something could be done.
