Kendal Gymnasts brought back a clutch of medals at the Cumbria Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Championships at Carlisle.

In the level 4, 12 and over category, Ruby Dickson won gold on both the beam and the floor and a silver on the vault that gave her an all-around silver.

Florence Place, in her final competition for the club, took gold on vault, silver on floor and an all-around bronze, as well as retaining the trophy for the highest individual score on any piece of apparatus for her vault.

Amelia Edwards won gold on both the vault and the beam while Millie Stephenson was placed fourth all-around.

The strong overall performance saw the gymnasts then take the team gold by a clear margin.

In the L4, 11and under category, Clara Spiby was the only gymnast of her age in Cumbria to have achieved this level of competition so took the gold on all apparatus and the all-around championship trophy (with the fourth highest score of the day in both age groups).

The level 5 gymnasts also produced steady performances but did not manage to medal.
