POLICE were called to a road traffic collision in Kendal this morning involving a car and a pedestrian.
The incident happened near the junction of Bridge Street and Aynam Road on the eatern side of the River Kent. Aynam Road was closed for about half an hour, causing some traffic tailbacks, but the road is now re-open.
Police say the collision involved a Toyota Aygo and a pedestrian. The road was closed whilst emergency services attended.
The pedestrian, a woman in her 50s, has been taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries, not believed to be life threatening.
The driver of the Toyota Aygo, a 57-year-old man from Keswick, is helping police with inquiries.
