CONTROVERSIAL plans for a new 30-space pay and display car park in Kendal have been unanimously agreed.
More than 70 residents objected to the plan by South Lakeland District Council to create a car park on an area of land between Parkside Business Park and the Electricity North West Compound.
It is close to a public right of way on the route of the former Lancaster Canal and near the historic Change Bridge.
But at a planning committee meeting in Kendal today, no speakers turned up to outline their objections and the application was unanimously approved.
