PARKRUNNERS in the South Lakes area are being urged to apply for their share of £50,000 worth of funding which could benefit their community.
Popular free parkruns take place every Saturday morning at Fell Foot Park, Newby Bridge, which encourage participants to run or walk 5km against the clock with friends, family or by themselves.
And participants are encouraged to apply for the money, which is available via the Leeds Building Society's Community Reward Scheme, a programme was set up earlier this year to provide funding and volunteer support to projects that help improve local parkrun communities.
