IF you want to help a South Lakes charity provide more and better exhilarating outdoor activities for youngsters with profound disabilities, now's the time to contribute.

The Bendrigg Trust is this week taking part in the 'Big Give Christmas Challenge,’ the UK’s largest match funding campaign, so any donations made up to next Tuesday, December 4, will be doubled by the scheme.

And the Old Hutton based charity is hoping for a huge boost to its campaign to raise £10,000 for a new wheelchair accessible vehicle, which will increase access to local activity venues for wheelchair users and those with complex and profound disabilities.

That means more young people with and without disabilities can enjoy adventure activities together, reducing isolation and promoting inclusion whilst increasing self-confidence and self-esteem.

Bendrigg Trust is one of the UK’s leading providers of adventurous outdoor activities for people with disabilities and enables those with often severe and complex disabilities to take part in activities such as caving in the Yorkshire Dales, climbing in the Lake District and canoeing on Windermere.
