A FESTIVE atmosphere is promised at this year's Leighton Hall Christmas Fair with proceeds going to CancerCare.

Suzie Reynolds, one of the owners of Leighton Hall near Carnforth, is opening her home to help raise funds for local people affected by cancer.

The event, which is on Wednesday December 5, will feature many festive stalls including arts and crafts, clothing, cheese, seasonal wreaths and a raffle so there will be no shortage of gift ideas.

Suzie was on the original fundraising committee which helped to establish CancerCare and has supported the charity ever since.

"Having been involved from the start, there is always the wish to remain involved and see what the charity is doing," she said. "The Christmas Fair is a chance for people to support CancerCare.

"I feel very strongly that the event needs to stay local with local businesses selling affordable and unusual Christmas presents."

The Christmas Fair will be open from 10 am to 2pm and entry is £5 on the door.

There will be hot refreshments served with a festive flavour as well as heart-warming carol singing by pupils from Yealand Church of England Primary School at 12:30pm.
