The A66 is closed both ways due to overturned lorries and strong winds between the A6 Kemplay Bank (Kemplay Bank Roundabout, Penrith) and the A67 (Bowes, Bowes).
The closure took place after two lorries verturned due to strong winds at Stainmore yesterday at around 6.15pm.

The closure has since been extended between Penrith to Bowes to aid a strategic diversion. Local traffic can still use sections.
