Kendal Town fell to a 3-0 away defeat against a very good Leek Town side at the weekend.

I didn’t make it to the game but it seems the players gave their all in an otherwise somewhat dull game.

Sadly the team remains in trouble. They are level on points with Glossop, who currently occupy the second-from-bottom position in the table.

It is sad to see Kendal struggle. I am so used to them occupying a mid table spot. However this season the team has been well and truly dragged into a relegation battle.

Kendal play some huge games over the coming weeks. They entertain Widnes on Saturday before playing an away game against bottom of the table Skelmersdale United the following weekend.

Kendal need to win these games and get themselves away from the bottom end of the table as quickly as possible.

I am led to believe that there will be some kind of statement issued by the club this week, although it is not clear exactly what it is going to say. I do hope it is released very soon just to let everyone know.
