EMERGENCY SERVICES were called to the scene of a vehicle fire on the A65, near Crooklands roundabout.
The incident, which happened yesterday at around 5:30pm, led to the busy road being closed causing rush-hour disruption for motorists.
Firefighters from Milnthorpe tackled the fire and used breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
A spokesperson from Cumbria Police said nobody was injured during the incident but the cause of the fire has not yet been established.
Police have also received reports of youths seen around the car shortly before the fire happened.
