THE spirit of giving was in evidence in a big way at CancerCare’s Christmas Fair at Leighton Hall last week.
The event raised an incredible £4,029.70 to help local people affected by cancer as hundreds of people turn up to buy unique and unusual Christmas gifts and enjoy the hall’s wonderful festive atmosphere.
Visitors were also treated to traditional carol singing by pupils from Yealand Church of England Primary School, mince pies by the fire and burgers cooked by the Rapid Relief Team charity.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped and supported the fair," said organiser Helen Hartin.
“I would also like to thank Suzie Reynolds and her family for kindly opening their home to us and for making it a great success.”
