THE website for a popular tourist destination in South Lakeland has been blasted as "appalling."
www.ulverston.net is the town's online guide, designed to allow visitors and locals to find out more about the town and the surrounding area.
But town councillor Colin Williams believes the website is in desperate need of a makeover.
At Monday's town council meeting, he said: "The website is quite simply appalling. The Welcome page, there is nothing but a blank page. The Meet Your Town Councillor page - nothing, and so it goes on all the way down.
"There are links to nothing and I think it's appalling. If we are going to have a website it should look professional and it should not be such a hotchpotch of a thing that ulverston.net is."
But fellow councillor Barath Rajan warned that he believed the cost of setting up a new website could be in excess of £15,000.
The matter will be discussed at next month's town council meeting.
