OUTLINE plans for two detached bungalows at Cow Brow, Lupton, have been submitted to South Lakeland District Council.

Mr and Mrs Neil Broomfield hope to build the three-bed and four-bed homes on land opposite Meadowside, north of the A65 road.

According to plans, the couple's existing home is now too large for them. They wish to stay in the hamlet, where they are "key members" of the "small and close-knit community" but there are no properties suitable.

The Broomfields hope are seeking consent to construct a pair of fully accessible dwellings: one for themselves and one to meet local housing need.

The site is used for hobby sheep grazing.
