FLOOKBURGH farmer Trevor Wilson is hoping for planning consent to roof over sheep pens at Guides Farm Cottage.
The fibre-cement roof is designed to prevent rainwater being contaminated by sheep waste and flowing into the Morecambe Bay estuary less than 200 metres from the site.
Plans are with South Lakeland District Council.
The farm has a flock of 860 breeding ewes, according to planning documents, and Mr Wilson is the fourth generation of his family to farm there.
Natural England is supporting the project.
