CUMBRIA police officers have used electronic stun guns – known as Tasers – 62 times in the past three years.
Figures released under a Freedom of Information request show that police officers in the county used a Taser 22 times in 2016, 19 times in 2017 and 21 times between January and November last year.
Three of the incidents involved a Taser being used to subdue dogs and on two occasions, police officers used the equipment to tackle people under the age of 18. The oldest person targeted with a Taser was 64.
