The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for ice in South Cumbria for between 4pm and 11pm today.
It says ice will form on some surfaces later today and overnight into Wednesday, with further wintry showers at times.
It warns that the area is likely to see some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces. Ice will form on some roads, pavements and cycle paths.
