FLOOD lights have been installed on a training pitch at Kendal Rugby Club to enable youngsters to practice during the winter months after school.
The money has been provided by South Lakeland Insurance Solutions (SLIS), who have been the main sponsor for the mini and youth club section for a number of years.
SLIS branch manager Sarah Speddy said: "Rugby is one of the main sports played in this town. We were extremely happy to help fund the floodlights."
"Sport is so important for young children, it gives them skills for life and rugby in particular teaches them a good team ethic."
Steve Whitehead, director of Kendal Rugby Club thanked SLIS and said year on year the youth section had grown in popularity and number."
Lead coach Rob Montgomery said: "The boys have improved so much and the extra space freed up by the lights is a real boost."
