KENDAL Town Hall welcomed photographer Anita Corbin on International Women's Day to talk about her touring exhibition, First Women.
Anita's portraits capture 100 pioneering women and famous faces such as Shap sheepdog handler Katy Cropper, the first female winner of One Man and His Dog; 70s rock star Suzi Quatro; poker player Victoria Coren-Mitchell; news reader Angela Rippon; First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon; and Olympic gold medallist boxer Nicola Adams.
The photographer was invited to Kendal by the South Lakeland Equality and Diversity Partnership. The group's Jacquetta Gomes has been photographed by Anita for her second collection of First Women pictures. Jacquetta, of Kendal, is acknowledged as the first female Buddhist fire chaplain in the world.
Anita's exhibition is touring the country and was fully unveiled last year to mark a century of women's suffrage.
