A PLAN to convert a business unit into a takeaway café has been submitted to South Lakeland District Council (SLDC).
Bowness Bay Brewery owner Richard Husbands has applied to transform a small unit at Castle Mills Business Park, in Kendal, into a bistro.
The particular building was originally earmarked for demolition in 2017, but the decision was reversed and in November 2017 it was agreed that the unit was to be retained and renovated.
The application states the café would open during the hours of 6.30am till 2.30pm from Monday to Friday.
The local eatery may be used occasionally at evenings and weekends supporting activities or events held at Mr Husband's brewing facilities-immediately adjacent to the application property.
SLDC have stated that the application has been deferred until more information has been submitted to "satisfy" Cumbria County Council's Local Planning Authority.
