VOLUNTEERS with the Clapham Cave Rescue Organisation dealt with two incidents on the Ingleton waterfalls walk trail on Saturday afternoon.

They were first called to assist a 61-year-old man who had become unwell descending steep steps on the trail after Beezley Falls.

The casualty was checked by a team paramedic and administered oxygen until his condition stabilised. Whilst waiting for an ambulance, the team were informed that the ambulance had been diverted to another, more serious, incident on the trail.

This involved a 35-year-old woman who had collapsed with a serious medical condition near to Manor Bridge. After being stabilised by paramedics from the Yorkshire

Ambulance Service and the North West Air Ambulance, the casualty was stretchered along the narrow and undulating trail by team members back to the car park for transfer to a road ambulance. She was then taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary by air ambulance.
